Biology & Art Exploration Program - Summer 2015 at RAF

Everyone is invited to join the Rainforest Art Foundation for their first annual BAEP Summer Program for kids! The program will be held at the Museum in the Young Artist Gallery downstairs.

Rebekah White has designed four different themes in biology and art meant to help kids learn more about the two by using both their left and right brain together. This is a fun way for kids to get more involved in both art and science. Each day will include a unique theme with 5 different stations that have a lesson paired with a craft. The art will be available to take home with you, or you may leave it with us to put on display in our Young Artist Gallery.

The program will take place every remaining Thursday during July beginning on July 9, 2015 from 9:00 am to noon. It is a FREE, come-and-go as you please event series with a suggested $10 donation per family to benefit the Biology & Art Exploration Program (BAEP) of the Rainforest Art Foundation. The activities are crafted for ages 3-10, but all ages are welcome! Complimentary snacks and refreshments will be provided.

**PARENT/GUARDIAN MUST BE PRESENT AT ALL TIMES

Schedule:
July 9 - Butterflies & Blending
July 16 - Animals & Abstraction
July 23 - Camouflage & Composition

Wild Turkey Dreams - Part I

Artist Talk: "Dream Series by Marlene Tseng Yu"

Part one of an evening of art, food, and fun! This exhibition features paintings of wild women, deer, snakes, and rams for your viewing pleasure.

Start the night out at the Meadows Museum of Art at Centenary College with the 5th exhibition of the Lucky Sevens series, 7 different exhibitions at 7 different local venues beginning with her 70th solo exhibition in honor of Marlene's 77th year. Remember your passport to get it stamped!

The Dream Series is the only series by Marlene that uses human and animal forms, but still  captures Marlene's unique style. This series tells of love stories that consist of figurative female bodies juxtaposed with various animals symbolizing males. Originally, abstract images in nature suggest similarities with the female body and animals. From this visual connection grew the Dream Series.

Wine Country Bottle Shop & Bistro will be providing wine for the evening and Bistro To Go will be providing food.

Admission:

FREE! Please RSVP on Facebook - click here

*Dream Series posters will be available for $20 and personally signed by Marlene.

*After you fill up on delicious wine and food provided by Wine Country hop on over to the new bar at Remington Suites Hotel for the AFTER PARTY! Part II is not affiliated with Centenary College or Meadows Museum of Art in any way. This is a separate event presented by the Rainforest Art Foundation.
